Burmese Colour Needles – comments received

Your needles were delivered today and they really are marvellous! But I think you have a problem with
your business plan - they seem to last ages :D
I find it fascinating that the output level varies less going from the small to large thorns that it does for small
to large bamboo (or even steel) needles. And, the treble-to-bass balance remains more constant as well.
Loud tone steel are so shrill with no bass.

Many thanks for the wonderful Burmese needles. I am experimenting with round bamboo needles, but the
tone and durability of the ones you sent me are unsurpassed. Simply a beautiful product. These Burmese
needles... seem equal to the originals, which have been preferred by discerning listeners since their

I'm glad to see the enthusiasm you put into this thing, it's very encouraging about the future of
gramophones. When a kid, I never really thought that I could still play gramophones by the year 2000.
The fidelity is excellent and I especially appreciate the diminished surface noise once in the groove.
What a joy it was, on opening a pack, to find them to be identical to the original old stock I have
occasionally been using over the years! Imagine my delight when ... I inserted the first needle and lowered
it onto Red and Miff's Stompers doing "Slippin' Around" on Victor 21397-B, the wall of sound that emanated
from the Oversize completely blew me off my perch there! I was unprepared for, and truly amazed at the
sheer quality of reproduction, volume, attack and for the needle tip lasting fully the distance, showing only
minimal wear for such a strong record on final inspection! I was using a large two spring EMG box, which I
shall reserve for thorns now that you've converted a long standing steel user in this way! I shall keep the
steels for the troubled records though... Hearty congratulations for producing such a successful product!
These have been a revelation. Until now I have accepted a certain metallic edginess as inevitable in any
acoustic gramophone... I now know that I have been mistaken in this. The BCNs give a warmth to the
orchestra, and a kind of freedom to the sound of individual instruments within it, which enable me to forget
altogether that I am listening to a gramophone... they are more tolerant of less-than-perfect copies than I
had dared to expect; and I have already satisfied myself that they can be re-pointed many times. I see no
need to search any further.

I played a few [recently bought 78s] with the thorn needles and they sounded really fantastic.
I love your Burmese needles so much, they produce such a sweet sound!
I tried your needles and I must say to you “Bravo”! I am very impressed because I have found no
differences between your needles and NOS IM ones... Again very well done preserving the knowledge
necessary to the production of thorn needles.

I am in receipt of a pack of those Burmese Colour Needles ... and based on an initial playing of my favorite
record they are superior to anything I have tried so far. Super results. I'm going back for more.
I started using them around a year ago. Not only do they sound great but with careful sharpening last
seemingly forever.

I just want to let you know that the needles just arrived today, the packaging so esthétique! I love it! The
